The Previews will be a bit disjointed this week and will come in dribs and drabs since I have had little time to do them today however I hope that you get something out of them. (more…)
Round 15 POTW: Danyle Pearce
This week’s Play of The Week goes to Port young gun Danyle Pearce for his potential Goal of The Year he kicked against West Coast on the weekend. Port Adelaide already had the game under control so they were basically in party mode when Pearce ‘dances’ around several West Coast players and runs into the 50 and kicks a wonderful goal. It seems as if we are getting goal of the year contenders every week now so it will be a tough competition when it comes down to picking a winner at the end of the year. Congratulations to Danyle Pearce for winning this weeks POTW! (more…)
Round 15 Preview & Selected Teams

Firstly my apologies to everyone that I was unable to do the Previews for last week. Unfortunately work takes precedence on occasion, and being interstate meant that I was just unable to get near a computer in order to get them done, however we are back for Round 15. Surprising to realise that there are only 7 rounds left before the finals. 7 more rounds of misery for half of us. (more…)
Something to Crow About
I have seen some wonderfully entertaining and highly applaudable football dynasties in my comparatively short lifetime. The Hawthorn sides of the 1980s, the Carlton squad of 1995 whose record of 20 wins was quickly (and gratefully) forgotten about due to the dominant Bombers of 2000 (jokes), and of course the might of the Brisbane Lions towards the start of this millennium, followed up by the consistently flying birds of the modern day Eagles and Swans. However, I have come to the conclusion that of all the teams I have seen take to an AFL/VFL football field in the past three decades, no team has had a more stupid and ridiculous set of surnames than the 2007 Adelaide Crows! Round 14 POTW: Dale Thomas
This week’s Play of The Week goes to the almost goal by Dale Thomas. The Magpies had fought back in the last quarter and led the Saints by three points. They had the momentum but there was still five minutes on the board and the Saints needed a win. It took this single bit of brilliance from young gun Dale Thomas to put the Pies ahead two goals and basically seal the match. The supporters were jumping out of their seats with the thought that the Pies were going to win and they had just witnessed the goal of the year. Little did they know the boundary umpire had called it out of bounds, as the supporters started to realize the fact it wasn’t actually a goal a loud moan of boo’s surround the ground. For the record only minutes later Dale Thomas received a free kick and slotted the goal, it may not have been as special but it got the result and the pies went on to win by 9 points.
