Hawks convincingly, Carlton save-face

Hawthorn have soared through to the semi-finals of the NAB Cup after beating Carlton by a convincing 34 points at the Telstra Dome tonight. Hawthorn came out will all guns blazing and dominated all over the ground but more importantly on the scoreboard. The quarter time score showed a 54 point lead to the Hawks but that wasn’t enough for the hungry Hawk players. Midway through the second quarter the Hawthorn lead extended to a massive 69 points, from then on in Carlton were playing catchup. [Read more]

Judd to captain the Blues

It’s official, Chris Judd will captain Carlton in 2008. The decision was made over last nights board meeting and was announced at a press conference held at MC Labor Park this afternoon. It was all announced that Nick Stevens will be vice captain. The announcement has come after months of speculation as to who will captain the Blues. The issue caused an uproar when it was reported Carlton offered Judd the captaincy in order to lure him to the club, the problem being Lance Whitnalls career had yet to be decided. [Read more]
