Fisher to miss 6 to 8 weeks
Carlton forward Brad Fisher will miss the start of the home and away season after breaking the base of his thumb in Saturday nights match against Port Adelaide. Fisher had a pin inserted to the base of his thumb this afternoon which will keep him on the sidelines for six to eight weeks. Fisher will join the likes of Cain Ackland, Clinton Benjamin, Adam Bentick, Chris Judd and Andrew Walker on the injury list at Carlton. (more…)

Malceski expected to miss season
Sydney midfielder Nick Malceski could miss the 2008 home and away season after he injured his knee during the third quarter of todays 2 point loss against Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium. The 23-year-old will have scans tomorrow which are expected to confirm a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The devistating injury occurred when Malceski turned to avoid a tackle with his right knee buckling under the weight and pressure. Once the scans confirm the injury Malceski it’s expected he will have a full knee reconstruction. (more…)
