Injury List - Round 1
March 26, 2008
Round 1 of the 2008 AFL Season is over, but it left some injured players in its wake. The most significant of the round were the season ending shoulder injury to young Magpies Sean Rusling, the knee injury to gun Essendon forward Scott Lucas and the dislocated wrist of Trent Croad. Lucas is expected to miss 10 - 12 weeks with a ruptured PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) while Croad escaped a major stint on the sidelines with his injury being better than first thought. Adelaide also lost young Brent Reilly after he broke his wrist against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday. It’s yet to be confirmed how long he will miss, but he is expected to have his arm in a cast for around 6 weeks. [Read more]
Footywrap: Round 1
March 26, 2008
Jeff goes into the Carlton dressing rooms this week to talk to ‘Supercoach’ Glenn Manton and ‘Jayco’ Jim Lawson (these guys are seriously funny.) Glenn channels Northey, Walls and Barassi to give Jeff a tirade on whizzing in public and tittie bars that he won’t soon forget. Many will remember Glenn’s antics from The Footy Show but his Supercoach character goes well beyond the tired old trollop that Channel 9 have been serving up on the Footy Show this year (Billy Brownless!!?) Glenn won ‘Best Improv’ at the Trades Awards last year with his ‘Supercoach’ character. His ability to think on his feet is very impressive and Jayco Jim is a brilliant sidekick. [Read more]

2008 Crystal Ball - Part 2
March 23, 2008
The response I have received regards the first 2008 edition (13th - 16th) of the OWAAT Crystal Ball has been absolutely inspiring. I would like to thank everybody for their input via email, via the OWAAT Forum, via our radio show and via random insults hurled on the street from angry fans of the teams I lobbed into the bottom four this time around. Just a timely reminder, I did place MY team in there too! Enough looking backwards, I have been looking over my shoulder ever since posting my last ramblings, let’s launch into stage two which encompasses my optimistic forecast for correctly predicting 9th on the ladder through to 12th.
