ESSENDON’s convincing win over North Melbourne on Easter Monday has come with a very expensive price to pay when gun centre-half-forward Scott Lucas limped to the interchange bench in pain with a serious knee injury late in the first quarter. Essendon officials said they were expecting Lucas to be on the sidelines for ten to twelve weeks with a torn PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) which is not be be mistaken for an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) which is more widely known when it comes to football injuries and requires a whole knee reconstruction. The injury is the only downside to a great win by the Bombers when they defeated the Kangaroos by 55 points and kicked 17 of the last 20 goals of the match.
