The Western Bulldogs have given Melbourne their second thumping in for the season when they smashed the Demons by 95 points in the round 2 clash at the MCG on Saturday. Dean Baileys Demons managed to stick with the Bulldogs for the first quarter, only trailing by a point at quarter time. But the Bulldogs pulled away during the second quarter and really put the foot down during the second half of the match. A midfield consisting of Daniel Cross, Matthew Boyd, Scott West and Adam Cooney had plenty of the ball and managed 111 possessions between them. There weren’t many positives for Melbourne but Paul Wheatley, James McDonald and Nathan Carroll were the only exceptions to the overall bad performance. The win for the Bulldogs puts them 2-0 and in the top four but there is confusion when the question is raised about the Bulldogs being so good or the Demons being so bad, the answer can only be answered over the rest of the season.
