Kerr and Carr cop three

West Coast’s Daniel Kerr and Fremantle’s Josh Carr have both been given three-match suspension by the Match Review Panel for their incidents over the Anzac Day weekend. Kerr was charged with headbutting Bulldogs veteran Scott West. The panel concluded that the contact to West’s jaw was medium forced, intentional, high contact that required West to recover on the bench. With Kerr’s poor record the penalty was raised by forty per cent. Kerr accepted the three matches and didn’t risk further penalty. If that wasn’t enough he also coped a $900 for wrestling with Dylan Addison who received the same penalty. Josh Carr faced a four match suspension for kneeing Gary Ablett Jnr in Friday nights clash at Subiaco Oval after his bad record increased it from two. It was then reduced to three with the early guilty plea. Power big man Chad Cornes was offered a reprimand for his striking charge but has chosen to fight it. He risks a one week suspension if the fails, but may be out longer with his broken finger. Sydney Swan Luke Ablett was fined $1950 for making contact with and umpire, Dale Thomas and Kyle Reimers each received $900 fines for wrestling with each other on Anzac Day, while Brent Staker and Ben McGlynn accepted reprimands for their low grade striking charges.
