Eight weeks for Solomon

The tribunal has handed Fremantle’s Dean Solomon an eight match suspension after he pleaded guilty to striking Geelong’s Cameron Ling at Skilled Stadium on Saturday. After a hearing which lasted for an hour the tribunal took just 15 minutes to decide on a 850 point penalty. The suspension was the largest handed out for some eleven years. Dockers football manager Robert Shaw said after the hearing that “As for the result of the tribunal appearance, we’ll certainly be seeking legal advice on the length of the penalty,”
