Bartel to tribunal, others accept

2007 Brownlow Medalist Jimmy Bartel will front Tuesday nights tribunal to contest his level one tripping charge on Bulldog Shaun Higgins. Bartel was offered 80 demerit points and a reprimand. Due to being suspended once in the past three years this was upgraded 10% resulting in 88 demerit points a reprimand. Bartel will not face suspension of he’s unsuccessful with the contest. Team mate of Bartel, Matthew Stokes today accepted a one match ban for striking Western Bulldog Liam Picken. Essendon also accepted the three match ban on Nathan Lovett-Murray for a late head-high bump on Richmonds Kayne Pettifer. Photo Attribution – JamesDPhotography
