Seven goals from Brisbane captain and power forward Jonathan Brown has helped the Lions run over the top of the Blues by 19 points at the Gabba on Thursday night.

The main focus early was on Brendon Fevola who started well against his former club booting two first quarter goals to help the home side to a nine point lead at the first change on the back of Carlton’s inaccurate kicking. It didn’t improve in the second term as they booted 1.5 as the Lions kicked four goals straight to give them a handy 22 buffer at the main break. The Blues found their feet in the third term slamming on the first four goals of the quarter before Mitch Clark goaled from 15 metres out to give his side back the lead. Carlton booted a further three goals, split by Jonathan Brown’s fourth, to give them a seven point lead with a quarter to play. Brown dominated the last quarter kicking three goals as the Lions ran away to record a comfortable win.
