Tipped as a top four side Adelaide have started the season in horrible fashion losing five straight games after going down to the Western Bulldogs by 49 points at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

The Crows matched the Dogs early but failed to use the ball efficiently after quarter time allowing the home side to dominate the second term. The Western Bulldogs booted five straight goals before Patrick Dangerfield slotted the visitors first major of the quarter sparking a mini run on which saw the deficit cut to 18 points at half time. Lead by Daniel Giansiracusa, who picked up 13 possesions in the first quarter alone, the Doggies moved up a gear in the third term booting five goals to one to open up an unassailable 44 point lead with a quarter to play. They took their foot off the pedal in the final term to cruise to their third victory of the year. Forward Barry Hall had another good match kicking five goals, all coming in the second and third term, giving him 19 for the season.
