With the new Gold Coast team entering the competition in 2011, the AFL is looking to overhaul the current pre-season structure to implement a cricket type approach which will see shorter games played in quick succession.

The birth of the Twenty20 game in cricket worked wonders, attracting people with fast, exciting matches and since its inception the popularity of the shorter game has soured bringing new fans to the sport.   1. I’m with Paul Roos, if one of my clubs players were to sign on with GC 12 months before hand I wouldn’t want them anywhere near my club. If they want to sign make it public.

    The compensation with picks seems like a bit of a disgrace too, the 4 year thing might be a little bit better but the next couple of drafts are going to be compromised anyway with West Sydney coming in the year after GC.

I would be very dissapointed if Gary leaves Geelong I now its a lot of money but he would not exactly be getting peanuts at geelong would he and it was himself said he loves geelong so lets see how much he loves geelong and the people hat have hung on every move he made Gary if you read this I hope you stay with us untill the end of your playing day’s I am sure you wont exectly leave a pauper anyhow what about some of our filthy rich people outting there hand in there pocket and putting up some money outside the actual club so come on Geelong there must be some way we can keep our stars like Gary Jimmy Bartell and all the youngsters we have up and coming and the team that made this group what they are please leave us alone Afl is not the right word for them their only interest is money not the sport they chanheid Fitzroy for what so the ideots can gowere we are not welcome. yours Barry
