Due to a calf injury Hawks Captain Luke Hodge will be sitting out the round one match against the Magpies at the MCG tonight .

Jarryd Roughead has also been sidelined, having been named as an emergency only. Roughead hasn’t played a match since round 13 last season when he ruptured his Achilles tendon.

Liam Shiels’ leg injury also prevents him from playing in the first round of the 2012 season.

Some new players will emerge in the Hawks line-up tonight with former Lion Broc McCauley to play in the ruck, former Bulldog Jarrad Boumann in the back pocket and former Crow Jack Gunston to play in the forward pocket.

The match starts at 7:30pm LIVE on Channel 7.
