To kick off his busy schedule whilst in Melbourne, Chris Judd today had a meeting with a surgeon and then began the process of meeting several Melbourne based clubs which will help Judd in making the decision on who he wishes to play for in 2008 and beyond. Carlton was first on the list and they went all out in their attempt to win Judd over. Chris met with Carlton president Richard Pratt at his Raheen mansion. He then met with his manager Paul Connors at the club and had a meeting in the board room with Greg Swann, Steven Icke and Brett Ratten. Judd was then given a tour of MC Labor Park and the football department by CEO Greg Swann.
According to the bookmakers Carlton are currently clear favourites to secure Judd next year. Having the best draft picks in this years National Draft which will certainly attract West Coast however if Judd doesn’t get traded to his choice of clubs there is a chance he will walk and enter the Pre Season Draft.
Judd and his manager are meeting with the Melbourne Football Club tomorrow and then Essendon on Saturday. Collingwood also plan to talk to Judd after their finals campaign is over.
