The Match Review Panel has penalised five players from Round 14 matches.

 

Players penalised by the MRP

 

Brendon Goddard (Essendon) – has received a $1200 fine for making contact with umpire Shane McInerney.

The MRP assessed it as a first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire.

The initial penalty may be reduced to $900 with an early plea.

 

Jason Winderlich (Essendon) – has received a one match ban and 125 demerit points for striking Luke Brown (Adelaide).

The MRP assessed it as level two striking.

The initial ban was added to demerit points already accumulated meaning he’s ineligible for the penalty to be reduced with an early plea.

 

Callan Ward (GWS) – has received a $1200 fine for pushing Brock McLean (Carlton).

The MRP assessed it as level one misconduct.

The initial penalty may be reduced to $900 with an early plea.

 

Jordie McKenzie (Melbourne) – has received a two match ban and 225 demerit points for striking Lindsay Thomas (North Melbourne).

The MRP assessed it as level three striking.

The initial penalty may be reduced to a one match ban and 168.75 demerit points with an early plea.

 

Daniel Giansiracusa (Western Bulldogs) – has received a two match ban and 225 demerit points for rough conduct against Jared Polec (Port Adelaide).

The MRP assessed it as level one engaging in rough conduct.

The initial ban was added to demerit points already accumulated meaning the penalty will remain at a two match ban and 221.48 demerit points.
