St Kilda Skipper Nick Riewoldt looks set to make his return on Saturday night when St Kilda meet the Lions at the Gabba.

Riewoldt suffered a serious hamstring injury early in the season and there were fears he may not be available for selection until the eve of the finals but after a 3-month stint on the sidelines the 27-year old is almost certain to line up on Saturday night.

“He’s ready to go, I reckon,” Vice-captain Lenny Hayes said on Tuesday morning.

“I think Rooey’s pretty keen to get out there as soon as possible, but again, he’s not going to take any risks.

“If he feels, and the club feels, and the doctors feel that he’s ready to go Saturday night, then he’ll play.”

St Kilda medical and coaching staff will make a decision on Riewoldt later this week.

St Kilda could see midfielder Jason Gram and key forward Justin Koschitzke return to the side this week as the Saints look to win 8 in a row.

If Geelong lose to Hawthorn this week the Saints will take the outright top position on the ladder.
