After a massive win on Easter Monday Essendon’s young gun Bachar Houli was rewarded with a round one nomination for the NAB Rising Star award for his contribution to the 55-point win against North Melbourne.

The 19 year old played just 4 games for the Bombers last season but there was plenty off hype for the midfielder since he arrived at Essendon. Houli was rewarded for his 26 disposals, 4 marks, 3 clearances and delivered the ball inside the forward fifty 3 times.

While Houli deserved the nomination round one unearthed alot of new and young talent. Nathan Brown of Collingwood had an outstanding game playing on Matthew Pavlich, meanwhile young Hawk Cyril Rioli and Bulldog Josh Hill were also standouts, perhaps a nomination awaits for them in the near future.
