Could the goal of the year be wrapped up after just two rounds of football in 2008? This goal kicked by Eddie Betts late in the 4th quarter against St Kilda has set the benchmark for 2008 and will be hard to beat. Betts kicked only kicked one goal for the match but it was a ripper from the boundary line. It was so good Eddie himself couldn’t believe it, I’m sure he’ll find it hard to believe if he ends up winning the major prize and if he does it’ll be the second goal of the year he’s won, he kicked a similar goals from the opposite side against Collingwood at the MCG in 2006, keep them coming Eddie!
