SYDNEY key defender Tadhg Kennelly has under-gone scans today to determine the extent of his injured knee. After a collision late in the second quarter of yesterday’s 91 point demolition of the Bombers, the Irishman went down and looked to dislocate his knee. An MRI on Kennelly’s left knee revealed a dislocation of the kneecap with no other damage. The news should only see Kennelly on the sidelines for one week with the Swans ruling him out of the Port Adelaide clash on Saturday afternoon. The Swans were also delighted with the successful return of Nick Malceski, just 86 days after surgery to repair a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his knee. The young Swan had revolutionary surgery which could change the way AFL perceive ACL injuries. What once kept a player out of the game for up to 12 months may now only cause them to miss 3-4 months. Paul Roos acknowledged that although his return was succesful, Malceski certainly isn’t in the clear. Round 8 Injuries Jonathon Griffin (ADE) – cut head Michael Jamison (CAR) – shoulder Marcus Drum (FRE) – hamstring Alan Obst (KAN) – ribs Daniel Wells (KAN) – right leg Tadhg Kennelly (SYD) – knee
