Renouf cops two

Young Hawk Brent Renouf has been offered a two match suspension by the Match Review Panel if he accepts an early guilty plea. Renouf was reported after striking West Coast’s Adam Selwood on Friday night at the MCG. The hit was classed as a level four striking offence which was assessed as reckless, high impact and high contact which drew 325 demerit points and would have cost the young Hawk three matches. The early guilty plea would reduce the it to 243.75 points and a two match ban. A number of players have copped $1200 fines for engaging in a malee in the same game, including Hawthorn’s Lance Franklin, Mark Williams and Trent Croad and West Coast’s Darren Glass and Adam Hunter. Carlton’s Brendon Fevola has also been charged for wrestling Richmond’s Kelvin Moore and will be fined $3000.
