Two week hammy for Chappy

Geelong half-forward Paul Chapman will miss up to two weeks with a hamstring strain suffered in the Cats 11 point win over Hawthorn at the MCG on Friday night. The 26 year old left the ground in the second quarter after booting two goals and wasn’t seen for the rest of the night despite almost being recalled in the tight final term. The injury was not as bad as first thought. “He’s got a slight hamstring,” Geelong coach Mark Thompson explained. “He did it when he kicked that long ball to Ryan Gamble in the second quarter, and I think we were toying with the idea of bringing him back, so it’s not a big one.” The Cats were already without key midfielders Gary Ablett and Cameron Ling, as well as speedster David Wojcinski for the big clash. Veteran Darren Milburn was also a late withdrawel after coming down with a virus.
