Collingwood skipper Scott Burns will announce his retirement from football after 264 games over 14 seasons at a press conference to be held at the Lexus Centre at 9am on Monday morning. In attendace at the press conference will be coach Mick Malthouse and president Eddie McGuire. The 33-year-old has only been captain for one season and despite contemplating playing another season with Collingwood Burns chose to leave the game while he is still on top of his game. Burns was denied a farewell game when his season was cut short in round 21 against the Swans and did not take part in the Pies finals campaign. Burns joins Collingwood’s Shane Wakelin and Ryan Lonie who have already announced their retirement this year.
