Hawthorn veteran Shane Crawford will play his 17th season at the club after deciding to play on for another season. The Brownlow Medalist is set to sign a one year contract that will see him continue his career even after securing the illustrious premiership medal this year. The 34 year old said he is still keen to play AFL football and is talking with the club to work out small areas of the contract. Even though the Hawks managed to take the ultimate prize after winning the 2008 Grand Final it looks as though they still have some improvement, so there could be hope for a string of premierships for Crawford after playing 15 years without tasting finals success.
