Looking bad for Goodes

After battling a groin injury for several weeks Sydney’s Dual Brownlow Medalist Adam Goodes may spend a few weeks on the sidelines after just getting through Saturday night’s loss against Adelaide.

Goodes has been hampered by the injury for many weeks and hasn’t be able to have his usual influence on the game. Swans coach Paul Roos today conceeded that it probably wasn’t the best option to play Goodes in the shape that he is in.

“I guess sometimes as coaches we are responsible for picking players that you sometimes shouldn’t pick, but you do that in good faith and it happens at all clubs. But at some point the coaches have to overrule the players and you have to put a healthy team on the field.”

Goodes may join other key players on the sidelines including Michael O’Loughlin and Amon Buchanan with Nick Malceski and Leo Barry also battling injuries.
