2. Is there a player who is 200cm that works as hard on the ground as setanta?
3. How many teams have two tall targets that are as Mobile as waite and setanta?
4. Do you honestly think Dogs having Hall... are better than when they didn't have ball?
5. Who is your imposing forward to tear a match to shreds? When was the last time Collingwood had an imposing forward that tore a game to shreds? Do you see this as Collingwood's weakness... even though they are the highest scoring team and scoring at will with a forward line full of smalls?
6. Who did Geelong have as an imposing forward that tore games to shreds last year?
7. Who did West Coast have in 07 that was an imposing forward that tore games to shreds?
8. Are you saying we have a weak forward line cause we aren't one dimensional any more?
Setanta couldn't take a contested mark to save his life. He's a very athletic big man, but he can't do what you want big men to do, and that is take marks, not kick crumbing goals. Mitch Hahn is almost comparable to Setanta imo, although he's better overhead. Waite's played one good game as a forward this year, although he did go awol after his explosive 1st quarter. Waite is a player who can be the player to fill the marking void, i've already conceded this. They were in the NAB... otherwise it is yet to be seen, although Hall does a lot to straighten them up in attack.
Travis Cloke, John Anthony and now Chris Dawes, are all capable of taking contested marks, kicking bags and winning games. Jack has shown this as of the semi final last year
Geelong at least had Mooney and Hawkins, who both kicked multiple goals if memory serves me correctly.
West Coast had Quinten Lynch who kicked 60 goals in 2006 when they actually won the flag.
I'm saying you have a weak forward line because you have no players who will be able to perform on days when your midfield is down, or under pressure. Whilst your midfield is strong it is not unbeatable, as we saw when Collingwood's midfield absolutely destroyed you. And don't give me this omg were young we're allowed inconsistant! because you don't hit form drop form and regain form in the space of three weeks. Carlton were as good in the first quarter (and majority of the match) against Collingwood as they were against St. Kilda, and we've seen what happens when the midfield gets crushed

You think Setanta can't take a contested Mark to save his life??? Well he has taken them... doesn't take them too often but he has.... has also taken screamer too...
So Cloke, Anthony and Dawes are capable of kicking bags and winning a game by a solitary kick... but Waite and Setanta who have kicked bags this year are not capable... so you take prediction as harder evidence that actual events?
Jack kicked the winning goal that really shouldnt have been... so he kicked a kick straight so he can do it and Waite and Setanta can't
So Mooney and Hawkins kicked multiple goals... Setanta and Waite haven't... makes sense
So Lynch kicked 60 goals averaging 2.3 goals a game
Setanta averaging 2.6 goals a game...
And this is the best bit... We don't have players that will perform when our midfield is down... and then he uses out of all games.... THE COLLINGWOOD GAME...
Here some facts for you Woody boy:
- We are the only team to score over 100 points against Collingwood all year.
- Setanta O'hAilpin kicked 5 goals (career best and game high) in a game where as you put it "our midfield got crushed"
- Eddie Betts and Marc Murphy were equal 2nd most goals kicked with 3 in a game where our midfield got "Crushed"
- Chris Yarran scored 2
- Mosquito fleet scored 6 in total... and Setanta and his little helpers scored 11 between them
So tell me something Woody... how does it work exactly? Our Midfield got crushed... yet we score a total of 16 goals in a game we lose by 55 points... scoring the highest score the form team of the comp has copped... and this is an example how our forward line is weak???
Hmmph... I totally don't understand Footy anymore

The one thing all those premiership sides had was a gun midfield and very good defences, and whilst Carlton's midfield is on the way, it is still a long way behind that of Geelong etc. It's defence is no where near that of premiership teams of the past few years/ever. Setanta is poor above his head, you cannot deny this. A link to his screamer (preferably from this year) oh wait he hasn't taken one this year. I still feel the number of times Carlton forwards get beaten in the air is a concern.
The bulldogs had the highest score of all teams last year, how did you rate their forward line? Marc Murphy isn't a forward, and in previous years has been one of if not your highest goal kickers.
Also, a winning goal that shouldn't have been? Despite a clear hold of the arm? SPARE ME! May as well go on with the premiership that shouldn't have been at Carlton, cheaters.
I'm glad your proud of your history of not actually earning anything, you can buy as much success as you want, but it will never be as sweet as earning it.
I said Mooney and Hawkins have kicked multiple goals in a GF, let alone a final. I'm not sure Waite and Setanta would be as dominant when the games mean more than just 4 points. Just be glad you played a Geelong side without Scarlett

We do have a deep ruck stock, and some talent down there, Our speed is a non issue since we have some deep talent as well, just out of form
A Danny Frawley/Darren Glass/Langford type defender
Reliable big defender (194cm) with quick closing speed.

Lets begin
1. Betts had 3 goals by 3qrt time... alot more than 1 possession
2. So your predicting Setanta average will drop even thought we've already played against the 3 best defences in the AFL.. and so you must be right
3. Now you are saying our Forward line is shit cause our midfield and defence isn't as good as Geelongs... ahh ok
4. Now your worried about our marks inside 50...Please indulge in the following
Carlton average 26% mark inside 50 vs inside 50 entries
Collingwood avergae 25%
Brisbane with their big boys 21.6%
Western Bulldogs with bazza 25%
Hawks with their big boys 21%
"I still feel the number of times Carlton forwards get beaten in the air is a concern." you shouldnt loose too much sleep over it
5. Ive been saying it the whole time about dogs and i think they didnt have to get Hall... but they didn't have the big and small variation that we had... they had the highest percentage of "midfielder" scoring their goals last year of any other team... we have the highest percentage of forwards kicking our goals this year than any other team... go figure
6. Re Anthony... one kick at goal doesn't say shit... especially gotten from a bullshit free.. i cant believe you are using it as part of your argument... you sound better when you make shit up
7. That's better... making shit up about our history to make you feel better... you do that good... i don;t understand why you bother trying to use facts cause the facts you use are pointless... making shit up suits you so much better... especially making shit up that has zero relevance to the argument... keep up the good work champ
8. ROFL... a geelong side without Scarlett... ohhhh thats why we beat them... it had nothing to do with having winners all over the ground... it was all Scarlett... thanks for clearing that up... you were lucky you played freo without Kepler...
