Travis Tuck, Son of Mike, Cousin of Gary, related to just about every famous victorian football family was found in his Car, Apparently it was an Overdose

I wont babble on about his issues but unfortunatly this might have cost him his career at hawthorn and his last chance, Hopefully he gets the help he needs.

Another Hawk with drug issues, gee..... WCE all over again. 1 strike for tuck goes nicely with Buddy's 2 strikes

The first strike three came from a Hawk?

Well who would've thought it.

Guy is in a lot of trouble with his playing career and his personal issues, hawthorn have been trying to deal with it quietly for a few years but unfortunatly the boy has just outed his skeletons

Hopefully we re-rookie him after his delisting and help him recover, if not we continue to provide councelling for him outside of football

Cuz was outed without a 3rd strike (or any for all we know)
Punishment should be longer for Tuck based on that.

Statement from Hawthorn

Quote

Whilst the Club agrees that an Illicit Drugs policy is necessary, we are disappointed that we could not provide Travis with support after his first strike and just maybe we could have avoided this situation.

If you either think he got off light or not, that statement is spot on.

Why wait for the second time for a club to be informed, if he's been tested twice to a substance its more then likely he;s taken it twice and probably needs some help or the club to rank the guy in and clip him under the ears before it becomes serious.

I dont want to tell you all to get off your high horse in laying the boot, it seems its just a kid who is feeling the pressure of being a famous name and unable to preform on the field due to injuries going off the rails.

Worse yet since the policy means we couldnt find out sooner the guy has had his name dragged in the mud, Travis isnt the party Animal that people consider the hawthorn culture, GHB while sometimes used for incredible highs at the right dose. He's taken too much for the numbing side effect of slowing down heart rate. While hes technically "one of my boys" i will defend him in this way or not, but this smacks of me of the Kid being in a dark place, especially in the statement the AFL it had links to depression helplines.

He;s very lucky its not considered a bodybuilding drug which it has been known to be used for or else he could of copped 2 years

So because he was using a performance enhancing drug he gets off lighter than cousins?

Makes sense

GBH can increase testosterone production

However it does mess with stamina, so football players get really no benifit out of it, unless you want to be a 130 kilo defender who doesnt leave the back 50.

Your reasoning just sounded funny. Cousins was using drugs which ***** you up and people were saying shit like he should be banned coz hes lyk invicinable on dem and shit like that.

Im all for wiping out dicks who use preformance enhancing drugs outside the current guidelines of whats dictated as right/wrong of which organisation

however rec drugs the best treatment is to just ban them for half a season and have the club deal with the issue rather then the AFL, its either just a casual user who likes to party, someone whos in emotional trouble or a young bloke experimenting. Doesnt require a 2-3 year ban and to ruin their careers which could be classed as almost harmless fun

So you agree that Cousins' punishment was unfounded?

The thing with Tuck is that he's suffering depression, and using to get a high, it's a real serious issue that is ignored by the AFLs code. Really after testing positive once they should be in councilling to determine why they're using so they can detect issues such as this early. It's one thing protecting party boys and the AFLs rep, but should that come at the expense of other players health issues? Surely not.

Of course cousins punishment was undeserved, it was a vain "We dont know how to deal with the issue so we'll ban him for a year to shut everyone up", deserved about 6 months and councelling sessions, however do you think any club would of picked him up straight off the bat or wait a year?
