What makes you say we'll slide down the ladder? Surely we're in a position to only get better? The only player we're losing is Kirk, and while he has been a champion for us, he has not been near our best this year. Our most important midfielders have been Kieran Jack, Josh Kennedy, Dan Hannebery and Jarrad McVeigh, all of whom are 25 or under. Goodes, Jude Bolton and Kirk have all spent copious amounts of time in the forwardline. Our number 1 ruckman, Shane Mumford, is 23 and was shortlisted for AA honours.
We also have Mark Seaby, Craig Bolton, Daniel Bradshaw and Craig Bird to return to the side and play regular footy.
There will be no sliding down the ladder for the Swans, I'd bet the house on it. We will be playing finals next year, and may even be a premiership chance.
It's kinda weird how the swans came home in a canter this year. I could seriously see them keeping that level up though, i think the amount of changes may have had an impact on their structures etc. and it was hard to get right. Shame Roosy won't be coaching next year, will be interesting to see how well Longmuir goes.
