Same old Sam or slip of the tongue?

The always controversial commentator Sam Newman is again in hot water over comments made on Thursday nights AFL Footy Show directed at Tasmanian MP Paula Wriedt. Read more to see the video.
Newman was quick to explain his actions and stated that the audience and fellow panelists had misinterpreted his comments.
Earlier this year Newman was suspended from the Footy Show and told to undergo counseling if he wished to return to the weekly panel of hosts.
Tell us what you think, was it the same old Sam or just a case of his words being misinterpreted?

Give the guy a break, the poor bloke can’t’ even open his mouth without being shot down.
I can’t beleive that he tried to correct what he said afterwards. It was CLEAR what he was trying to say, he’s not fooling anybody.
It might be time to revamp the entire show, Sam has so much baggage, and the cricketer James Brayshaw does not have any personality, poor old Gary is a fence sitter, likes to stay safe, and Trevor has been asleep for a very long time. The three lads who come on as guests are barely spoken to, and these are the guys we pay our entrance money to see on game day. Billy bunter Brownless is more painful than Sam with his boy humour. I’ve switched to the Marngrook footy show, on NITV and I love the freshness and the true footy talk. I do think Eddie ran a better ship, with more footy.
