Bomber Leroy Jetta received a one match ban from the Match Review Panel for a level two strike on Tiger Dylan Grimes on Saturday night. Jetta decided to challenge the suspension saying he had been surprised that Grimes had gone to ground because he believed he applied very little force. Jetta presented his case as being a push rather than a violent strike, however last night the Tribunal found him to be negligent and reinforced the one week punishment.

Jetta is just the second player this year to be unsuccessful in his appeal to the Tribunal. The first to have the Match Review Panel’s initial charge reinforced was Swan co-captain Adam Goodes whose knee first slide in Power’s Jacob Surjan earned him a week.
