Essendon will show their support for the Victorian bushfire victims in this Friday nights bushfire appeal match against the Bulldogs by wearing the words ‘Bushfire Appeal – 1800 811 700’ on their shorts.
The Essendon coaches box will also display the bushfire appeal information in hope it will encourage Australians to continue donating to the cause.
Both the Bulldogs and the Bombers are right behind the AFL and the decision to move the game from Darwin to Telstra Dome in Melbourne and hope the Dome will be packed to the rafters.
Essendon managing director said he hop[es fans of all 16 clubs get along to the match to support the appeal.
“The circumstances surrounding this game are tragic. We are pleased to have the opportunity to play a part in assisting those who have been affected by the fires this Friday night.
“Australia is a generous society and when Australians are in need we dig deep and do everythingwe can to help those who are less fortunate – I hope fans of all clubs support the AFL’s initiative this Friday night.”
