Eagle Andrew Embley was scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery yesterday after having his left shoulder come out of its socket twice this year. Embley is expected to spend between 12 and 16 weeks recovering and getting back to form. His return to the West Coast midfield is uncertain for the rest of the season, however the club remains hopeful.

This latest loss for the Eagles follows news that injury forced Mark Nicoski to the sidelines for the next three months and confirmation that forward Mark LeCras is out for the remainder of the season.

Nonetheless, the West Coast Eagles meet Greater Western Sydney in Blacktown on Sunday and are expected to add a third win to their impressive start to the 2012 season. The club currently sits at the top of the AFL Ladder after Round 2.
