Sydney’s Adam Goodes will miss one week for being found guilty of a feet-first slide into Power’s Jacob Surjan on Saturday afternoon. This means Goodes will have to wait until round five to play his momentous 304th game for the Swans.

Bulldog’s Brian Lake has also been suspended for one week for punching Saint’s Tom Simpkin in the face during the match at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Demon’s Captain Jack Grimes received a one-week ban for his sling tackle on Tiger’s Daniel Jackson during Melbourne’s ten goal loss on Saturday at the MCG. During the match, Grimes was knocked out after his hitting his head following a similar tackle on Jackson. Coach Mark Neeld said Grimes was alright following the incident.

Grimes’ teammate Nathan Jones has been fined $900 for negligent contact with an umpire during the match against Richmond.

Carlton’s Marc Murphy also received a $900 fine for his behaviour on the weekend after giving the middle-finger to Magpie fans during the Blues ten goal win on Friday night.

In a busy weekend of bans and fines, Richmond’s Ivan Maric was lucky to escape penalty for striking Melbourne’s Jordie McKenzie. The Match Review Panel decided the open-handed contact lacked force and the charge was subsequently dismissed.
