Round 7 value bets & odds

Centrebet have opened up their round 7 AFL market with some surprising odds. Richmond have opened up at $1.87 favourites against the Swans ($1.93) which will surprise a few. The Swans have only lost one game in 2012 but with Adam Goodes likely to miss it seems to have made the bookmakers favor the Tigers. If the Swans want to be a fair dinkum finals contender they’ll have to prove they can play well at the MCG at some stage and I think the $1.93 odds is great value here.

GWS will meet Gold Coast for the very first time on Saturday afternoon and while both teams have shown promise recently it’s hard to go past the Suns at $1.40 to beat the Giants at $2.95. Gold coast have taken it right up to Fremantle and North Melbourne in the past two rounds and should be ready to get their first win of 2012 on the board in Canberra this week.

Melbourne will host Hawthorn on Friday night at the MCG and while it’s impossible to tip the winless Demons at the moment I think the +50.5 line is a generous one and at $1.91 is a great value bet.

Essendon have opened up $1.83 favourites against the undefeated Eagles. Both teams have got significant injuries at the moment but West Coast look worse off on paper. I look at this game to be a good test for the Bombers who have only lost the one game for the year so far. West Coast are the better side here and I think the bookies have these odds back to front despite the travel factor. West Coast at $1.97 could be one of the highest prices you will see them at all year.
