Power’s midfielder Travis Boak is set to have surgery on his right foot that has been giving him trouble since the beginning of the year. It has been announced that Boak will undergo a procedure to remove plantar fascia that has progressively worsened, particularly in the past couple of weeks, affecting his training.
Boak is expected to miss a maximum of four weeks as he recovers from the surgery. Peter Rohde, the general manager of football for Port Adelaide revealed the extent of the injury has meant Boak hasn’t been able to participate in training for two weeks. He went on to say that although this type of injury can often heal itself, Boak hasn’t been so lucky. Therefore, surgery has become a last option.
