Swan Gary Rohan went from kicking the first goal for the match against the Kangaroos on Sunday, to an awkward tackle just a minute later which has left him with a broken leg and spells the end of the season for the forward. It has been revealed that the specific damage has been a compound break to the tibia. Rohan is not expected to return to the side in 2012.
Coach John Longmire admits the loss of Rohan in the Sydney team this year is a huge blow considering what a strong contribution he has already made to the Swans undefeated home-and-away season. Sydney currently sits in second position on the AFL ladder after four rounds, only exceeded by West Coast.
Longmire hopes Rohan’s teammates along with his family who have traveled from Western Victoria to support him will be enough to help him through this difficult time and his extensive recovery.
