This list contains every player in VFL/AFL history to have kicked 500 or more career goals, a total of 65 players across more than a century of competition. Goals are regular season totals only, consistent with the historical record as maintained across the VFL/AFL era.

The 500-goal mark is a significant threshold. Reaching it requires sustained productivity across at least a decade of senior football, and the majority of players on this list are recognised among the finest forwards their clubs have produced. Only six men have gone on to kick 1,000 or more, a feat so demanding that Lance Franklin, who reached the milestone in 2022, may prove to be the last.

The list spans eras from Gordon Coventry’s debut in 1920 through to the present day, and includes full forwards, rovers, half forwards and utility players, reflecting the many ways a footballer can accumulate goals across a long career.
