Giant’s midfielder Stephen Coniglio has undergone surgery this week to fix damaged tendons in his thumb. Coniglio will miss four weeks as he recovers from the surgery, after playing with the injury for the past few matches.
His strong contribution in the debut season for Greater Western Sydney earned him a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination in the club’s first win in round seven against the Suns. Graeme Allan, football manager for the Giants, is confident Coniglio will be ready to return in July.
