Collingwood star and 2011 Brownlow Medalist has taken to Twitter overnight announce his immediate retirement from AFL.
The 31 year old said that he would quit the club and focus on working from home in an unprecedented move for the 5-time All-Australian.
While some have welcomed shock retirement others have questioned it believing that Swan may have been hacked.
The team at AFL Online would like to congratulate Swan on an outstanding career and wish him the best in his life following football.
