Sydney co-captain Adam Goodes is obviously disappointed by the Tribunal outcome last night which saw his one match ban upheld despite his appeal to have the charge dropped. Goodes feet-first slide into a tackle on Power’s Jacob Surjan was found as rough conduct, negligent and a breach of his duty of care.

Goodes has already served a week ban this year for the same feet-first slide into Cat’s Taylor Hunt during the NAB Cup clash.

This suspension makes Goodes ineligible to win another Brownlow medal this season.

Missing this weekend’s round four game at the SCG has another significance for Goodes. He is set to overtake Michael O’Loughlin’s previous record of 303 games for Sydney. Goodes will have to wait until round five when the Swans travel to Tasmania for the match against Hawthorn.
