It’s the second week of the split round and with my Blues going down to the Saints last weekend I need something to entertain me in what looks to be fairly laid back weekend of football that we have ahead.
Multi Madness hasn’t been published for weeks now, unfortunately other things have taken priority over this site as you may have noticed with the lack of published and up to date news on the website.
This week I am confident of picking a winner though and thanks to our friends at SportsAlive.com I’m getting better value than ever before.
Leg 1: Essendon – WIN – Under 39.5 Points @ $2.25
An up and coming Essendon face the cellar dwellers Melbourne in Friday night football at Etihad. The bombers have brought back some big name players this week in Fletcher, Welsh, Winderlich while the Dees lose experience in Mark Jamar (quad), Nathan Jones (virus), James McDonald (knee), Matthew Warnock (virus), Daniel Bell, Addam Maric. Despite sitting on the bottom of the ladder I get the feeling Melbourne are quietly confident about this one, Essendon supporters are more than cautious entering the game and refuse to mark it down as a certain win.
History tells us these two teams have had some pretty good battles over recent history. The past two times they’ve met Essendon have only won by a combined margin of 18 points. No doubt this is a game Essendon should win, just maybe not as comfortable as one would think.
Leg 2: Collingwood – WIN – Between 20-39 Points @ $5.00
Collingwood have beaten Sydney the past 6 times they’ve met. I find it staggering that we’re being offered even money for a game played at ANZ Stadium, Collingwood love to travel and they’re playing themselves in to form with almost a full list to choose from. If it were at the SCG I may not be so confident but I just cant see the Pies losing.
Over the past 6 matches the winning margin by Collingwood has been 28 points, the $5 being offered for the Pies to win between 20-39 Points look good value at $5 odds.
