Giant Israel Folau has recovered well from the hamstring injury he received in Round eight and trained strongly today, however he is not expected to return to the Greater Western Sydney senior side until next weekend when the Giants come up against the Hawks in Round fifteen. Although Folau will be absent for the Sydney derby on Saturday night, he will take to ground earlier in the day in the NEAFL match.
Greater Western Sydney coach, Kevin Sheedy has said that they are not willing to put Folau under the pressure of a senior game this weekend. If something was to go wrong and he was re-injured upon returning this weekend Sheedy said they would be very disappointed. He believes it is safer to bring Folau back through the NEAFL on Saturday ahead of a solid comeback next Sunday.
