It’s always nice to start the season off on a WINNING note and that’s exactly what would have happened if you followed my tips last week. Geelong goal in the dying seconds was a heart-breaker for anyone who took my multi suggestion.
Round 2 betting can often be harder than round 1. In round 1 we don’t have much form to base our bets on however in round 2 you only have very limited amount of form to base it on and when you get surprise results you have to be careful how much you read in o them.
For that reason I’ll be avoiding certain games this week including the Swans v Bombers game, although I think the Swans are value at home and with Essendon’s travelling record I’m yet to be convinced by either side to risk hard earned cash.
I’m going to kick of my round 2 bets with a little bit of a flutter on Port Adelaide to beat West Coast at home. In hindsight this looks like a very winnable game for West Coast but their record against Port Adelaide speaks volumes and is enough to convince me that the Eagles will find it very difficult earning the 4 points at Football Park.
What record you ask?…West Coast have only beaten Port Adelaide once at Football Park in their history and that dates back to 1997.
If you still fancy the Eagles note that the last two times these teams met Port has won by less than a kick so think about getting on the Eagles line before backing them H2H.
My next best for this week may not surprise many but with all eyes focused on the Gold Coast Suns debut on Saturday night it’s a hard game to ignore.
Watching the Blues strut their stuff against the Tigers in last weeks season opener was impressive. The final score was a lot less convincing than it should have been that night. The Blues were dominant for 3 out of the 4 quarters that night and had they have kicked straight early in the game they would have been sitting well above the Bombers on the ladder percentage-wise.
I’m picking the Blues to overrun the Suns in the second half of the game and win convincingly. Don’t be surprised if the Suns are well and truly in the game at half time and I think the Suns +14.5 half time margin line is reasonable but the seasons bodies of the more mature Carlton side will stroll home in the second half.
