Round 20 saw some close matches and outstanding players. Unfortunately, some players stood out for all the wrong reasons and were answerable to the Match Review Panel.
Here’s the team by team list of players who face suspension in round 21, despite opportunities to have their penalties reduced, should they choose to accept early pleas.
Essendon
Patrick Ryder – has been offered a one match ban for level one rough conduct against Jamie Cripps (West Coast).
The MRP assessed the charge as negligent conduct, low impact and high contact.
Due to his poor record, an early plea will only reduce the penalty from 205.75 demerit points and a two match ban, giving Ryder 154.31 demerit points towards his future record and a one match ban.
Dustin Fletcher – has been offered a two match ban for level three rough conduct against Jamie Cripps (West Coast).
The MRP assessed the charge as reckless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
The initial penalty of 325 demerit points and a three match ban may be reduced to 243.75 demerit points and a two match ban with an early plea.
Gold Coast
Campbell Brown – has been offered a three match ban for level three misconduct against James Strauss (Melbourne).
The MRP assessed the charge as reckless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Despite his poor record making the initial penalty 455 demerit points and a four match ban, it may be reduced to 355.31 demerit points and a three match ban with an early plea.
North Melbourne
Aaron Black- has been offered a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points for level one rough conduct against Rory Laird (Adelaide).
The MRP assessed the charge as negligent conduct, low impact and high contact.
The initial penalty of 125 demerit points and a one match ban may be reduced to a 93.75 demerit points and a reprimand with an early plea.
St Kilda
Adam Schneider – has been offered a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points for level one rough conduct against Brent Guerra (Hawthorn).
The MRP assessed the charge as negligent conduct, low impact and high contact.
The initial penalty of 125 demerit points and a one match ban may be reduced to a 93.75 demerit points and a reprimand with an early plea.
