In a stroke of bad luck for Gold Coast it’s been confirmed that not one, but two players will be undergoing surgery. However, to the club’s obvious disappointment, this means both players will be out of action for the Suns for the rest of the season.
Firstly, Jaeger O’Meara is due to have groin surgery this week. Marcus Ashcroft, the Sun’s general manager of football revealed O’Meara’s need for surgery is something the club has been aware of and believes it’s best that O’Meara’s has the surgery now in the hope of making a successful recovery prior to pre-season 2013.
In an additional loss for the club, it has been announced that Alex Sexton will undergo hip surgery. Sexton, who has played six games for Gold Coast since he debuted in round eight, will obviously be anxious to make a positive return to the field next year.
